Setup Selection Pools Estimated reading: 3 minutes Selection pools are containers that contain the values of selection fields, attributes or select lists and can be edited. The content is grouped into containers to enable multiple use. A pool with values for a salutation, for example, only needs to be created once. Under selection pool, a distinction is made between the selection pool type and attribute. Additional entries for the selection values can be specified under Attribute. These can have different formats. Under [Admin]->[Selection pools] you will find a list of all available pools. These can be assigned to field types such as Selection (Radio), Selection (Select), Selection (Checkbox), Selection (Multiselect), Selection (Ajax) and Attribute. Different functions are available depending on the field type. Fig.1: Pool import Selection pools are administered by selecting a pool from the list. New pools can also be created (enter the name of the new pool) and individual pools can be deleted (recycle bin symbol). Once a pool has been selected, entries can be added, deleted or edited. If the pool has a large number of entries, these can be filtered using a search. By marking an entry as default, it is selected by default when a new data record is created. You can use the arrows to change the order in which the entries are displayed later. If an entry is inactive, it can no longer be selected in the form but is still available for older entries. The Additional field is used as additional information for the actual entries and is also searched during the selection search. An example is ORT and as an addition zip code. Depending on whether multilingualism has been activated in the Limbasystem, a field for the translation is displayed for each activated language. Depending on which language you have logged in with, the contents of the respective language are displayed, if available. It should always be noted that changing or deleting entries can affect all data records that have already been saved with this value. Fig.2: Pool detail Tools If a list with a large number of entries already exists, these can be imported as a CSV in the format VALUE[STRING] | SUPPLEMENT[STRING]. Fig.3: Tools TAG Mode If TAG mode is activated, the entries are displayed graphically as tags. These can be of the type Selection and Attributes. The Additional field is used to specify the color of the tag in the format #EEEEEE . Multiple-Mode If multiple mode is activated, values can be selected multiple times. This is usually useful for attributes.
