Specials Mini-Filemanager Estimated reading: 3 minutes General The Mini-File Manager is available in various menus. Whenever you see the magnifying glass icon (see right), the Mini-File Manager can be started. The Mini-File Manager always opens a new window. The main functions are to create or delete a folder, upload or delete a file. After clicking the symbol, the following window appears: Fig.1: Mini-Filemanager To navigate through the folder structure you have the following options: Double click a folder in the Mini-File Manager window Icon ‘Home Index’, back to My documents /Public folder / tables Icon ‘One Level Higher‘ changes to one folder level higher Icon ‘One Level Higher‘ changes to one folder level higher Icon ‘Simple View’ – displays a list of folders and files with no headlines Icon ‘Advanced View’ – displays a list of folders and files with headlines. If the view for this folder was modified in the File Manager (view additional fields) this view will be displayed To display a file – double click the file name To link a file to a data record- click ‘file size’ or ‘created by’ relevant to the file name and then click the select button. (when starting the Mini-File Manager from data sheet view) To display file properties – double click ‘file size’ or ‘created by’, relevant to the file name Commands Create a new folder Fig.2: Mini-Filemanager – Create new folder Click on the Icon ‘Create a new Folder’ and a new input field appears. Enter the name for the new folder and click on the button ‘Create’. The new folder will be created. Providing you have the required user right. Upload a file Abb.3: Mini-Filemanager – Upload new file Click on the icon ‘New File’ and a new input field appears. You can either type the file name you want to upload (including the path) or simply click on the BROWSE button. Another window opens, where you can navigate to the file you want to upload (details depend on your operating system). After the file is selected, click the ‘Upload File’ button. The file will be uploaded, providing you have the required user rights. Delete file Select the file with a click on ‘file size’ or ‘created by’, relevant to the file name, then click on the ‘Delete File’ icon.
